You’ll have a soft spot for this fluffy heart-shaped wreath made from ticking fabric, designed by blogger Julie Briones of the My Wee Abode blog. Start with a heart-shaped wreath form and 1 to 2 yards of red-and-white ticking, plus another 1/2 to 1 yard of solid-red fabric. Cut the fabrics into strips about 5 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Next, knot the ticking strips around the form, tying in contrasting strips as desired. For more detailed instructions and to see Julie’s tips and tricks, check out her blog post.
Repurpose a wire hanger and some chicken wire to make a dreamy and romantic wreath like this one from Michelle Franscella of The Painted Hinge blog. First, bend a wire hanger into a heart shape and wrap it with jute twine. Next, cut a piece of chicken wire slightly larger than the wrapped heart and hot glue the wire to the back of the wreath. Trim away excess wire, and then decorate the front of the wreath with scrapbook embellishments, ribbon and hearts as desired.
